A valid passport and visa are required to visit Zambia. Tourists are eligible to apply for a traditional visa, which is a stamp inside the passport, or they can apply for an e-Visa, which is an electronic visa and can be obtained online without submitting the original passport. To apply for a Zambia e-Visa, simply fill out Travisa’s online request form. Submit the Zambia e-Visa Online Application.
The Zambia e-Visa authorization letter is issued electronically. When you travel to Zambia you will need to bring a copy of it and you will have to pay a fee in the port of entry. This fee varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for. e-Visas are usually issued for short term travel to Zambia. For longer travels a traditional visa is appropriate. To apply for your e-Visa authorization letter you will need electronic copies of the following documents to upload:
- Passport information page
- Cover letter addressed to the director general of immigration
- Proof of hotel booking
- Copy of itinerary, showing return flight information
- Passport sized photo
